Pundits disagree on Wolves vs Manchester United score prediction ahead of Premier League clash

Manchester United can move into the Champions League places with a win against Wolves on Saturday afternoon (12:30pm GMT) as they prepare for their visit to Molineux.

Erik ten Hag will be looking for a repeat of the performance his side produced against Nottingham Forest. Goals from Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Fred moved them one point behind Tottenham.

Wolves are currently languishing in 18th place, but could be set to benefit from the 'new manager bounce' with the appointment of Julen Lopetegui. The Spaniard took charge of his first Premier League game on Boxing Day and oversaw a 2-1 win against Everton at Goodison Park.

In what looks set to be a tricky away game for United, here's what the pundits think will happen against Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

Writing in his latest BBC Sport column, Sutton said: "This is a tricky one to call because Wolves will be full of confidence after their last-gasp win over Everton in Julen Lopetegui's first game in charge.

"They will have a real go at Manchester United but I think the progress Erik ten Hag's side have made means they will be able to deal with that.

"United were dominant in their win over Nottingham Forest and we are starting to see them play the way Ten Hag wants them to. It definitely helps that no one is talking about Cristiano Ronaldo, and whether the team is better off with or without him.

"He has gone and, although it's a bit early to say the club is more in harmony now, the team are certainly playing that way."

Speaking to Paddy Power, Lawrenson said: "Wolves had a really good last-minute win at Everton which was great for their new manager Julen Lopetegui.

"United are in a good run of form but a new manager always heightens performances."
