The current Newcastle manager spoke to Naples radio station about life at Napoli and reflected on both Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Rafa Benítez, the Newcastle coach, spoke to Naples radio programme Kiss Kiss Napoli about the current situation of the Serie A team, as well as his previous clubs, Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Rafa says Madrid need to be winning
The Spaniard, who managed the Gli Azzurri from 2013 to 2015 before taking over at the Santiago Bernabéu, built a good part of the team that Sarri then took advantage of, and that Ancelotti is now enjoying said:
"We tried to make Napoli more international, something the president had wanted. Sarri did a great job and now Ancelotti is too. They should continue what they're doing: winning the Scudetto against Juve is difficult, but they can also achieve using squad rotation," said the 58-year old.
Asked about his time in Madrid, he replied, "Madrid is a very strong team, one that always has to be winning. If not, it means that something is not working. I am, however, focused on Newcastle and so I can't say anything else."
Liverpool, Napoli, PSG, Red Star
The so called Champions League 'group of death' included two of his former sides, Napoli and Liverpool, along with PSG and Red Star, and Benitez believes both of them can qualify.
"With Napoli we amassed 12 points and we couldn't qualify. It is a very complicated group; Liverpool are still undefeated in the Premier League, the potential of PSG is well-known, and Red Star has really interesting young players who gave The Reds a surprise. Napoli, however, have already proved that they can achieve their goal."
Benitez was then asked about the possibility of returning to take the helm in Naples.
"I am still young and I would like to continue coaching. Of course, I will never forget Napoli. Back in England I speak of its beauty that, unfortunately, many people do not know".

The "Fat waiter" should focuses on his Newcastle United, he didn't do well so far
your comments shows you are ignorant, he's a UCL winning manager, has won titles in more than one country, how many managers can say that?

Benitez did better coaching at liverpool but he was just very poor for Real madrid.. He is the good coach but he was not the type of coach that real madrid needs..

with the ideals of Rafa Benitez, he could win the premier league with this current liverpool team. Liverpool didn't gv him the most expensive defender but he won the champoins league for us so in my mind if klopp, fail to win the premier league for us we will bring him back! i think he understand the EPL very well with this expensive team liverpool have RAFA has a small liverpool team he won champions league what about this current team
your in my mind if klop fail to win any troph in this season. benitez is a right coach to replace him.
