Ramos's PSG debut is pushed back AGAIN as he is yet to return to full training

Sergio Ramos's PSG debut has been pushed back again with the defender yet to make a return to full training.

The centre-half is yet to make an appearance for the Ligue 1 giants after making the switch from Real Madrid to the French capital this summer.

The 35-year-old has been struggling with calf issues since arriving at the club as a free agent, missing 12 games this term, and is still waiting on the green light to return to full training.

There had been suggestions that the Spaniard's debut could come in PSG's game against Angers at the Parc des Princes on Friday.

But Mauricio Pochettino's side are not willing to take any risks with Ramos and have ruled him out of the contest, keeping him shackled to the sidelines.

A statement on the club's website said: 'Sergio Ramos will continue individualised training under the control of medical staff and performance for another 10 days with the aim of returning to collective training.'

Ramos is also set to sit out PSG's Champions League clash with RB Leipzig next week and a Ligue 1 trip to Marseille on October 24.

But if the defender can make a case for competitive minutes to the PSG boss the following week, his long-awaited debut could come against Lille on October 29.

Ramos is considered as one of the best defenders of his generation after picking up an array of trophies during his 16-year spell at the Bernabeu, and will now be looking to secure even more success as he prepares to line up against fellow superstar Lionel Messi.

Ramos will hope he can shake off the rust - the last time he played a competitive game was March 31 in Spain's win over Kosovo.

There is a lot of pressure on PSG to succeed this season after Ramos joined an all-star cast including Messi, midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and full back Achraf Hakimi.

Pochettino's side have won eight of their league games so far but suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to Rennes just before the international break.

However, the Parisians took one step towards their dream of winning the Champions League by beating last year's finalists Manchester City as Messi broke his duck.
