Rangers prepared for their Europa League qualifying first round tie against St Joseph's of Gibraltar by beating Oxford United at Ibrox.
Daniel Candeias and Greg Stewart gave the hosts a 2-0 lead after half an hour, before Lewis Mayo, Sheyi Ojo and Jermain Defoe completed the scoring in the first half.
The match against their League One opponents marks their first pre-season outing just two days before Rangers begin their European campaign.
A host of new signings including Jake Hastie, Joe Aribo, George Edmundson, Stewart and Ojo featured for the Scottish side.
It took only 16 minutes for Rangers to open the scoring as Daniel Candeias raced on to Stewart's flick and finished smartly.
Stewart was the next to break through, cutting in and hammering home from a very narrow angle on the right.
A flurry of substitutions from both sides slowed the game down, but young academy striker Mayo made an impact off the bench, heading in from close range.
Another replacement in Ojo added a fourth on his first game for his new side after a loan move from Liverpool.
There was time for new Oxford signing Sam Allardyce, the grandson of former England manager Sam Allardyce, to come off the bench for Karl Robinson's side.
Veteran Defoe still had time to roll home a fifth and confirm a morale-boosting win for Gerrard's side.
