Rangers transfer latest: Gerrard discusses Morrison and Lallana rumours

Steven Gerrard has rubbished reports that Rangers are lining up moves for Adam Lallana and Ravel Morrison.

Liverpool midfielder Lallana has endured an injury-ravaged couple of seasons, starting just five games in all competitions since the summer of 2017.

Rangers have already completed loan moves for Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis this month, and it had been reported that Lallana would be given the chance to rediscover his form and fitness at Ibrox.

Morrison, meanwhile, sparked speculation over a move to Glasgow after he followed Gerrard and a host of Rangers players on Instagram .

However, the Rangers boss distanced the Ibrox club from a move for Lallana or Morrison.

"There’s no truth in either,” he said.

There was better news for Rangers fans on the future of on-loan defender Joe Worrell, who looks set to remain at Ibrox for the rest of the season.

Gerrard revealed parent club Nottingham Forest had missed a deadline to recall him.

"We've spoken to Nottingham Forest and I think in the deal they had up until January 7 to call Joe back and we never heard anything from it," he said.

"So Joe will remain here for the rest of the season.

"He's a player who's done really, really well for us. I thought he was excellent during the Old Firm so he'll be here for the remainder of the campaign."

Defoe and Davis are in line to make their Rangers debuts against Cowdenbeath in Friday night's William Hill Scottish Cup tie.
