Raphinha's father on his son's potential move to Barcelona: There is a chance

Leeds United winger Raphinha is one of the players Barcelona have on their wish list ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Brazil international is the main candidate to come in and replace Ousmane Dembele in the event the Frenchman does not renew his contract, which is currently set to expire on June 30.

"There is a chance [for Raphinha to join Barcelona]", said his father, Raphael, in an interview with Record.

However, Raphinha's father is aware that, after Leeds secured Premier League safety, this move could prove to be complicated.

In the event the English side were relegated to the Championship, potential suitors could have triggered a 25 million euro (21.25 million pound) release clause to sign him.

"These possibilities involve three parties: the interested club, the current one and the player," added Raphael.

"He is calm about having a contract [at Leeds] and, as everyone knows, the possibilities depend only on him. What is already known is what is in the news, nothing different from that."

The 25-year-old forward played 35 games in all competitions for Leeds last season and netted 11 goals in total.
