Marcus Rashford arrived at Manchester United's Carrington training base on Wednesday morning as the fallout from his '12-hour tequila bender' in Belfast continues, with the forward accepting responsibility for missing training last week.
The England international called in sick on Friday and was subsequently fined two weeks wages when details of his antics emerged.
Rashford was 'clearly on a mission to get drunk', according to accounts of his night out in Belfast, and collapsed into bed fully-clothed at 3am.
It was revealed that the 26-year-old was involved in a furious 3am bust-up with a French woman after his drinking binge - and threw her out of the room they were staying in.
His decision to skip training is alleged to have angered his team-mates with one source saying: 'They couldn't believe that he would do that given the situation the club is in.'
United boss Erik ten Hag declared over the weekend he 'would deal' with the issue and seemed determined to draw a line under the matter with his side playing at Wolves on Thursday night.
'Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions. This has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed,' a United statement read.
Rashford has accepted the blame for missing training on Friday after partying with friends the previous day, then misleading the club into thinking he had been out on Wednesday night instead.
In chaotic scenes after his 12-hour drinking session, the Manchester United ace chucked the brunette's clothes into the corridor after she accused him of cheating on her.
Shocked guests at the five-star hotel in Northern Ireland said they were woken by the woman raging as Rashford ordered her out of their room.
Rashford's mystery companion accused him of kissing another woman at a nightclub earlier in the evening.
Witnesses told MailOnline she picked up her belongings from the corridor floor and marched down to reception and demanded a separate room from the Premier League star.
The 26-year-old is in contention to return against Wolves in the Premier League on Thursday night after 'taking responsibility' for his transgression in talks with ten Hag and football director John Murtough.
United are ready to offer Rashford counselling if the England star reaches out for help after his night out in Belfast.
It is the second time this season he has upset Ten Hag by going to a nightclub - and it is thought the club have been worried about him since autumn 2021.
Ten Hag criticised him for partying on his 26th birthday hours after losing to Manchester City back in October.
United are taking the situation very seriously and are committed to supporting Rashford physically and mentally through another dark period.
Professional help is available to any player, although it would be up to him to accept it. Sources told Mail Sport that the support is 'part and parcel' of any football club and open to all the United players, not just Rashford.
United legends David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, and Rio Ferdinand have also rallied around the United forward.
It is understood Rooney was 'happy' to get in touch with his former teammate after being asked to intervene by 'people around' Rashford, according to The Sun.
The former United captain decided to speak to the England international to offer him advice - having previously spoken about his relationship with drinking early in his career.
Meanwhile, Beckham and Ferdinand also chipped in with wisdom for Rashford.
They reportedly reached out after United staff had become fearful over a 'series of worrying allegations' over Rashford's behaviour.
Former Premier League strikers Chris Sutton and Alan Shearer also expressed their alarm over the revelations surrounding the 12-hour tequila binge in Belfast.
Mail Sport pundit Sutton claimed Rashford was 'out of control' while Shearer warned the player not to waste his career.
The England star was in Northern Ireland to see former United defender Ro-Shaun Williams, who has just signed for Northern Irish club Larne.
Rashford and Williams both played as kids for Manchester-based youth club Fletcher Moss Rangers before joining United's academy.
According to a report on Rashford's Belfast trip in The Sun, he flew from Manchester to the Northern Irish capital on a private jet on Wednesday before checking into the five-star Fitzwilliam Hotel.
It's claimed he then headed out to the Dirty Onion pub and Lavery's bar.
United were in the midst of their winter break, having last played Tottenham - a 2-2 draw - on January 14.
They trained on Wednesday and though Thursday was a day off, Rashford had to report back on Friday ahead of the FA Cup fourth round tie away to Newport County on Sunday afternoon.
On the Thursday, Rashford visited Larne FC, with the club posting a picture of the star with some of their student athletes on social media. Other pictures emerged of Rashford posing with Larne club staff.
After Rashford and his entourage left Larne FC, they went to an Italian restaurant on Thursday afternoon.
Sarah Adair, a waitress at the restaurant, told The Sun the United star was 'clearly on a mission to get drunk' and was downing shots of tequila and cocktails, before inviting her to join the group on their night out.
After she agreed to join him, Rashford asked Adair whether she knew any nightclubs that would remain open beyond 3am if he paid them enough money, which indicated to her that he wasn't busy the next day.
'That made it clear to me that he had already made his mind up that he wasn't going to training on Friday. He had no plans to go home that night,' she said.
Adair said she finished her shift at 5pm and returned to the city centre two hours later to meet Rashford, but was made to wait until 9.40pm before a Mercedes van collected her.
At this point she says she was asked to hand over her phone and told to not tell anyone other than her mum who she was going out with.
She said she was taken in a taxi to the Villa Italia restaurant to meet Rashford and his entourage where the United star had booked out the top floor and brought his own Bluetooth speaker to listen to his favourite rap music.
Rashford was reportedly reminded by a friend that he had training the next day, but the England international was adamant that he wanted to stay out.
Adair said the group then headed on to the nightclub Thompson's, where he was pictured by other revellers, before going to a private area The Attic for more drinks.
A source close to Rashford told the Sun that he left the club at 1.15am, but Adair said the group stayed out until close to 2am before his security decided to take him back to his hotel.
When they got back to the Fitzwilliam Hotel, where Rashford was staying in the £1,500-a-night residence suite, Adair claimed she had to put him to bed.
Adair said: 'He was so drunk at this point that he picked up his own bag and dropped it and all this cash fell out. It was all £20 notes and big wads of it. I reckon there was between £8,000 and £10,000 cash.'
'Then he falls back into the wall and I have to kind of scoop him up and on to the bed. He was fully dressed and I reckon he just passed out like that. He didn't even get under the covers.'
She awoke at 9.30am on Friday to find out Rashford had left four-and-a-half hours earlier.
He landed back in Manchester at 8am, but did not train that day after phoning in sick.
A source close to Rashford told the Sun that he had less than £1,000 in cash on him, adding: 'Marcus accepts his standards have fallen well short of what is expected.'

Marcus Rashford is going through a lot lately. It's not easy to experience a deep in form. The psychological trauma involved is usually intensed. I'm a Chelsea fan but I love Rashford cos he's very good.

So one night of enjoyment costed him 2 weeks salary which is about a million pound 💷. That must be the highest he has ever spent per night.

If a player is not committed just forget it. Many players who die to come to Man United but don’t get the chance because of these rubbish players who don’t care about our history. Just keep crossed your fingers for these type of players to disappear and then you will see what I mean.

Then who has a right? Bro how do you get to decide who has a right to be at the club or not please explain that to me. We keep sending players away but still stay the same at least he has done things for us be grateful for that and think of being supportive in his lowest moments that's the best you can do and just not want to outcast players because clearly we are not doing better.

I respect your thoughts. He has got everything a player needs to perform. Good salary, place in starting eleven and much more, but still he would close his eyes and go for enjoyment which doesn’t give him success in life. He has the choice to chose and he chooses the wrong one. Please don’t protect these players because for them the club doesn’t mean anything but just a source of income. He has no right to be a United player

That's why the club is going nowhere bro because we never supported our players that boy is in serious need of help and his lowest moment everyone is stabbing him in the back. But it's fine this is not the first time I am hearing this all I ask is that we give him a chance to redeem himself and get some help ons his mental issue because clearly he's not okay.

who's we? The guy is a professional footballer and acting like a social media influencer. Don't you learn anything from Pogba or Lingard?
It's not an argument it's just that your opinion won't be taken into account. You don't know what he's going through so you just can't come decide that you want a player gone without knowing the reason he is doing it. Try to understand things from a different perspective maybe then you will understand what I trying to say here.
