Marcus Rashford leaving Manchester United is inevitable according to Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher.
The Manchester United and England forward acknowledged that he was "ready for a new challenge" during an interview with Henry Winter on Tuesday.
The news came after manager Ruben Amorim had left both Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of the squad to face Manchester City last Sunday, which United won 2-1.
According to Carragher, a move is definitely on the cards with Amorim wanting to put his own stamp on the team.
"Most managers who come in, they want to send a message to the squad about the standards of the football club. In some ways it feels a bigger decision than it actually is," said Carragher.
"I mean, is Marcus Rashford in the best XI? How good is he? We're not talking about a world-renowned superstar here. I actually think we talk about Marcus Rashford too much, if I'm being totally honest."
Rashford has been at Manchester United his entire professional career, while he has scored seven goals in 24 appearances in all competitions this season.
He failed to hit double figures for goals last season, following the 2022-23 season in which he netted 30 times. His performance, according to Carragher, does not warrant a place in the team.
"He's a good player, he's not a great player, he's been a really good player for Manchester United. It is time for him to leave the club, but whether there'll be any takers with the wages the lad's on and things like that, who knows," he said.
"I just think a parting of the ways is inevitable at some stage, and I think for Manchester United and Rashford, the quicker that comes, the better."

it is better for him to leave and play some where else where he would be appreciated rather than warming the bench , loosing games is not Rashford's fault but the entire team and winning against Man City who is already having some problems this season does not mean that the Red Devils are going to win many games but was just because City has its own challenges . this is Man United , it won't change , yes there is a slightly improvement since Rubin Amorim arrived but that is going to be for a short time
Where he would be appreciated? The boy has been given "Royal" treatment while playing cat piss football. Nobody has placed the blame on him for United's woes, he's been talked about because on a personal level, he's been very inconsistent and below average. He walks around like he's achieved Ballon d'or status while the truth is that he's been overhyped for so long. We've got to be honest here, sentiments aside, Rashford is an average player at best and if you think he would be world beater elsewhere then you're kidding yourself! I'm sure you've been watching football long time and you know what world class players are like and what they do week in,week out and Rashford way out of that elite league.

Exorbitant fee goes with great performance and that's not the case. You prove futile and toothless In front of goal. You can look for another challenge.
