Marcus Rashford must decide if he wants to join ambitious Italian outfit Como after they said they will match his £325,000-a-week Manchester United wages.

Rashford says he is ready for a “new challenge” after his spectacular fall-out with United boss Ruben Amorim and his representatives flew to Italy this week to meet AC Milan officials. Rashford is keen on a move to Milan and feels the seven-time Champions League winners can give him the platform to resurrect his career.

However they will not pay all his wages as part of any loan agreement and their top earner is Alvaro Morata on £150,000-a-week. United have ruled out paying £175,000-a-week just to get Rashford off their books.

They value the former England striker at £40million and he still has three-and-a-half years left on his Old Trafford contract. They are keen to sell him because all the money could go to fund Amorim’s rebuilding work as profit under PSR.

Como, who are owned by Indonesian multi-billionaires the Hartono family, see an opportunity and they are prepared to pay all of Rashford’s salary. However the club, who are managed by former Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas, are struggling near the bottom of Serie A after winning promotion last season and may not be the opportunity Rashford is seeking.

Como know signing Rashford would be a huge statement and his former United team-mate Raphael Varane is a club ambassador. Rashford’s former England colleague and free agent Dele Alli has also just joined them to train with the Lombardy club.

Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are also keen on the hitman, who has managed just seven goals in 24 games this season. Rashford, 27, has already ruled out lucrative moves to the Saudi Pro League and he feels he can perform in one of Europe’s top leagues.

Rashford feels his career at United is finished under Amorim and he has not played for them since coming off the bench against Nottingham Forest on December 7. Amorim was not happy with his attitude in training and dropped him for last month’s derby win over Manchester City at the Etihad.
