Marcus Rashford has delivered a worrying message to fans on social media, revealing that he has endured 'months of abuse', with Man United supporters pinning some of the blame on YouTuber Mark Goldbridge.
The 26-year-old forward has had a difficult season on the pitch, failing to match the achievements of his 30-goal haul during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring eight goals so far across all competitions this season.
Goldbridge runs a fan channel called The United Stand, which has 1.85million subscribers on YouTube. He has recently released several videos in which he criticises the England star, notably once referring to Rashford as 'about as useful as a wheely bin with no wheels.'
On Thursday evening, Rashford responded to a post on X (formerly Twitter) that said: 'The way Marcus Rashford is being treated is absolutely disgusting. It's cruel. It's abuse.'
The 26-year-old wrote back claiming that he was tired of the abuse he has received in recent months. 'I appreciate your support! It is abuse and has been for months. Enough is enough,' Rashford said on X.
As a team, Erik ten Hag's side have endured a difficult season, crashing out of the Champions League and have dropped to sixth in the Premier League standings, with several United stars recently being heavily scrutinised for their performances by some former pros and pundits.
Last Sunday, United scraped through to the FA Cup final after beating Championship side Coventry City on penalties, despite giving away a three-goal lead in the match.
Goldbridge posted a video on his YouTube channel reflecting on the game where he claims Ten Hag left Rashford on the pitch for too long. He said: 'Leaving Rashford on, who is about as useful as a wheely bin with no wheels.'
In a separate video after the semi-final, he added: 'Why is he [Rashford] still being picked? Why is it not changing, when is it going to change? I'm out of excuses I don't know what to say. He shouldn't be playing for Manchester United at the moment. It's embarrassing.'
He added: 'What I want to know is is it in his contract [to keep starting]?'
One supporter took to X to comment on the video, saying: 'How has Mark goldbridge managed to turn united bottling a 3-0 lead to Coventry on Rashford.'
Another appeared to reflect the same sentiment, writing: 'Its in Rashford's contract to start every game according to Mark Goldbridge. Claims like this are so toxic.'
United came back from going a goal down to Sheffield United on Wednesday to seal a 4-2 win, with Goldbrige posting another video online criticising Rashford's influence in the team.
Goldbridge questioned whether United are having enough shots on goal when Rashford is on the pitch.
'Do we do that when Rashford's in the team? I don't know because it's Sheffield United, that's the honest answer,' he said.
'But tell me we do that on the regular? We don't, we don't. We don't regularly have 12 shots on target and 90 per cent pass accuracy. We're not regularly doing that.'
Another user wrote on X: 'Anyone saying this is criticism is just lying to themselves, nothing to do with Marcus Rashford but brings him up anyway to pile the hate on.
'Mark Goldbridge is carrying out a well thought out hate campaign and he needs to be stopped.'
The YouTuber has previously delivered some explosive rants online, recently calling their late 4-3 defeat by Chelsea an 'injustice'.
Former Man United defender Paul Parker has also hit out at Goldbrige last year, claiming that the YouTuber had been the cause of some 'problems' at the club.
Parker told BonusCodeBets: 'I don't like what Mark Goldbridge is doing.
'It's a problem. Everyone has to make a living but you have to be very, very thick skinned to make money off the back of something you don't like.
'He has no relationship to Man United, he is a Nottingham Forest fan. It's an incredible skill to do that, actually… To make money on the back of something you don't like.
'He is attacking the club, the manager and the owners of a football club that you don't even love. He has no inner feeling with the club and it's a scary but incredible feeling to have to be that invested in a club that you don't support.

Man utd fans sometimes are toxic.. These season they have identify rashford as there scapegoat, last season it was Fred... Fred now he has level up and up his game I believe rashford will to do the same when he leave. The main problem is with the club which it failed big time to evolve
please sign Rashford and sell Vini then come back to have proper discussion

The problem of Manchester United is the white fans! Most easily get tickets to watch ball unlike we Africans that larger percentage has not even been to the airport. The white sees football as entertainment but in Africa we see it as War! Whoever is supporting how Rashford plays is enemy of Manchester United. Every player at the Frontline plays better than Rashford

Rashford is just a spoilt brat acting like he is the prince of Manchester, Maguire have suffered worse abuse from fans but he kept his head in the game and short out the noise and now he is arguably our best bet in the defense . These days Rashford plays like he doesn't want the ball, he walk around the pitch like he is Messi, no running, the slows the attack and spend most of his time complaining in the media, party a lot because he has just landed himself a big contract.

Let me educate you. It seems u need a little education about Rashford. I've watched that boy all his life. Get your phone and check His stats in the last 2 seasons. n ask urself if Eric is the prb here. Rashford did this to Ole, did it to Mourinho, Ragnik in his short spell didn't always play this boy. Why? As a matter of fact, This is typical Marcus Rashford. One can easily argue last season was his all time career high n u won't be wrong. Rashford has the qualities to be as good as anyone u want to mention. But Just like every other job out there, If u don't have passion for your job, u won't be the best version of yourself. This is Marcus Rashford fairy tale. So before u allow that small brain of yours to start interpreting rubbish here and blaming coaches, ask yourself how many managers this kid has sacked. Nothing will ever be good enough for Rashford. Play him under pep and he will find excuses to be unhappy and give shitty performances. Salu
Wait ,ok ,this your long story ,do you mean that Erick ten hag is also the right coach for United ,chairman sir ?

He should stop trying to play victim here using social media to talk. He didn’t know when he was going club after club and getting drunk night after night.. He’s on a huge wage and it must be justified on the pitch or he can go… I hope the “enough is enough” means he wants to leave. After all in 8 seasons he’s had just 3 good season based on his levels (19,23 & 30 goals)
exactly my point the niggur is just fucking lame

After sacking Ten Hag they bring in another manager, all of a sudden the lazy players act as if they are world class under the new coach in a season. Then come the next season, they all plan to sack the new coach again. Disgusting lazy players that need to be wiped out

Rashford is selfish. he is not playing for the berg that is the logic behind his goal celebration, pointing at his head instead of berg is impossible for an academic player like him.

Show on the pitch. It is pity that after playing so trash, ETH picks him in starting eleven. Not fair to Amad. Whenever Rashford is not playing, United have won & had better possession with lots of passing accuracy. Facts cannot be lied. The most expensive players on wages LIKE Rashford, Varane & Casemiro are not pulling their socks up. Better he is rested.
