Manchester United will offer to treble Marcus Rashford's salary to keep him out of Barcelona and Real Madrid's clutches, according to reports.
Rashford's future appears unclear after United failed to qualify for the Champions League, and he has been linked with La Liga's two biggest clubs.
Reports over the weekend claimed the striker had put talks over a new contract on hold as he has doubts over the direction the club is heading under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
However, Rashford's agent and brother Dwaine Maynard seemingly hit out at rumours linking the forward with a move to Barcelona .
United will be desperate to keep the 21-year-old Mancunian, who enjoyed a good spell of form when Solskjaer first took over as interim boss this season.
And the club are prepared to treble his current £75,000-per-week paypacket, according to the Daily Star .
The homegrown youngster is under contract at Old Trafford until the end of next season with an option in favour of the club to trigger an extra year.
But they are determined to get their prized asset to commit his long-term future and had hoped to tie up a deal once the season drew to a close.
According to The Sun , United's miserable end to the campaign has led Rashford to take a step back as he looks to evaluate whether they are on course to rejoin football's elite clubs after dropping out of the Premier League top four.

it's interesting that players who played a hugh part in Manchester United missing out on the champion's league now have a problem playing for a club that's not in the champion's league. what right do they have to play in the champion's league did any of them put in championship performance?

Rashford needs more salary for what ? What has he done this season instead of not passing the ball at key moments and by taking ridiculously bad free kicks and corners. He should be either be sold or should be said to perform if he wants any raise. I don’t know what kind of obsession United have with academy players, rashford and Lingard should be shipped off if they don’t perform well in the next season.

I blame all this on the stupid pundits in Garry Neville and Paul schools for protecting English players for their poor performance and instead blaming it solely on Pogba and Lukaku.Rashford is a striker who will go 10 games without scoring ,getting quality through passes from the blamed pogba but instead pogba gets the blame.lingard is a number 10 who goes the all season with one goal yet no criticism instead martial gets crucified. Go to hell with the English players. when I hear Ole say he wants to build the team around homegrown players I just wonder what he is thinking. this club is sinking deeper
