Rasmus Hojlund's furious reaction after Erik ten Hag hooked Man Utd striker

Rasmus Hojlund was left fuming by Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag after being substituted vs Fulham.

The Danish striker was named in the Red Devils' starting line-up for Saturday's trip to Craven Cottage still hunting his first Premier League goal. Hojlund did not manage to break his league duck though.

A frustrating afternoon saw little service come his way before being taken off in favour of Anthony Martial with just over ten minutes of normal time remaining. He was clearly left angry at being substituted as a scowl adorned his face as he took his place among the substitutes.

The £72m man has now played eight Premier League games and is without a goal to his name. Hojlund has managed to score three goals for United this season - all of those strikes coming in the Champions League.

Hojlund was not the only member of the Red Devils' starting line-up to endure an uncomfortable few minutes after being taken off the pitch. Brazilian wideman Antony flattered to deceive once more and was booed as he left the pitch - young forward Facundo Pellistri replacing him,

United eventually managed to hit the front in stoppage time after Hojlund and Antony had been taken off. Captain Bruno Fernandes found space on the edge of the area and lashed home an excellent low effort.

The late winner came after Scott McTominay thought he had given his side the lead in the first-half but saw his opener chalked-off after a lengthy VAR check. Their eventual victory saw Erik ten Hag's side move up to sixth in the Premier League standings ahead of the rest of the weekend's matches.

They are next back in action in midweek for their Champions League trip to Copenhagen before welcoming Luton to Old Trafford ahead of the final international break of 2023. Hojlund will certainly be hopeful of ending his long wait for a Premier League goal against the newly-promoted side.

One man that Ten Hag will hope to be able to call upon is forward Marcus Rashford. The academy graduate was left out through injury for the trip to Craven Cottage.

The blow came just a day after the Man United boss had blasted Rashford's partying antics as "unacceptable". Speaking in a press conference, he said: "Yes, I'm aware of it. I spoke with him about it.

"It's unacceptable. I told him, he apologised and that's it. For us, it's an internal matter. He's fitting in, he's very motivated to put things right. I know how much effort he is putting in. He's totally with us. So he makes a mistake, but that doesn’t mean he's not fitting in.

"I see him every day in training, what he's doing, so I know. He makes one mistake but also, off the pitch, I see what he's doing, how he lives and I'm sure he's doing everything right to help the team and to perform and to let us win."
