Supporters of La Liga outfit Real Betis have once again performed their annual Christmas tradition of throwing thousands of soft toys onto the pitch for disadvantaged children.
The tradition dates back to 2018 and it sees supporters rain soft toys down upon the Estadio Benito Villamarin for volunteers to collect and then donate to local children in need.
It was started as a charitable undertaking by the club and its supporters for those, perhaps, less fortunate than themselves and has since grown into a yearly spectacle which supporters of other clubs love to view.
This year's showcase took place at half-time in the game against Athletic Bilbao with the club praising their supporters on social media.
'Again this year, spectacular,' the club tweeted. 'Again this year, thank you so much for helping us bring toys to children in need.'
They later announced that 14,000 soft toys had been donated with the club's foundation making every effort to distribute them to different associations within Seville and elsewhere.
'Since this morning, the Real Betis Foundation has already been delivering stuffed animals to different associations in the city and will continue to distribute them both nationally and internationally over the coming weeks and months,' the club said.
'Among the recipients who have already received green and white stuffed animals is the Spanish Commission for Refugee Assistance or the children who are beneficiaries of the project that the Foundation has in Equatorial Guinea led by Benjamín Zarandona.'
On social media, the annual spectacle was foisted with praise, with supporters of different clubs lining up to once again amaze at the thousands of soft toys raining down from the stands.
'This is so beautiful,' one individual wrote on social media. 'I have become a Real Betis fan.'
Another wrote, in reference to the gestures: 'It’s always the very little things for me.'
Meanwhile, another called it a 'wonderful tradition' and hailed those that had followed suit.
'What a wonderful tradition this is I've seen a few different clubs in different sports doing it and it's a lovely idea,' they wrote.
'There aren't many traditions as beautiful as this one,' one other individual added.
