Real Madrid star Luka Modric has dismissed suggestions that he could join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.
The midfielder has been linked with a lucrative move to the Saudi Arabian side amid suggestions that he could reunite with his former Real team-mate Ronaldo.
However, Modric, 37, was eager to stress that he wants to stay at Real for the remainder of his career.
As reported by Net.hr, when asked about a potential move to Al-Nassr, Modric said: 'My wish is known, to stay at Real Madrid. I believe and hope it will happen. The rest are only assumptions and rumours. I repeat for the 100th time, I hope and believe I will stay at Real Madrid.'
Ronaldo is earning £175million-a-year at Al-Nassr, but it seems that Modric will not be joining him at the club.
Modric also dismissed claims that he would have to end his international career with Croatia in order to stay at Real Madrid.
He said: 'Short and clear, no.'
There had been suggestions that Real were unhappy at Modric continuing to play for his country given that his form dipped following the World Cup.
Modric's current Real contract is set to expire at the end of the season but he is eager to continue playing for another year at least.
Since joining Real from Tottenham in 2012 Modric has made 473 appearances in total, during which he has scored 37 goals and provided 76 assists.
Modric has won an array of trophies at Real, including five Champions League, three LaLiga titles and the Copa del Rey.
