The players are set to undergo tests upon their return to Madrid to find out if they have suffered broken noses.

Mariano was the first to suffer a gruesome injury to his nose, as he fell awkwardly on his face after challenging the Elche central defenders for a header.

The medical staff immediately suspected that he had a broken nose, and applied four stitches to his face before placing his nose back in place at the stadium.

Casemiro then suffered a similar fate half a minute later, as he slid to tackle Pere Milla before the attacker's foot caught him in the nose, and he too will undergo tests.

These were not the only injury concerns that Carlo Ancelotti was faced with from the victory, as Rodrygo suffered a suspected broken fibia, alongside Luka Jovic's knee injury.
