Revealed: The five clubs who want to sign Bellingham next summer

Jude Bellingham’s stock continues to rise as his role at Borussia Dortmund gets more important, with a move in 2023 looking possible

Bellingham has been a star for Dortmund in recent times after his move from Birmingham City in 2020, and he will arguably be the highest-profile transfer of 2023 if it is to happen.

Clubs such as Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United have been monitoring the situation surrounding Bellingham and whether it would be possible for them to make a move this year.

There is, however, an update on Bellingham’s future, as Fabrizio Romano suggests there will be many clubs from England and Europe interested in signing the midfielder this year.

Dortmund braced for Bellingham bids

There have always been reports of English clubs’ interest – Liverpool reportedly didn’t spend big compared to rivals in the hope of getting Bellingham next year, and Romano adds to that.

“Liverpool signed Arthur Melo on loan, but they need a new top midfielder next summer and Bellingham can be the player, so Liverpool will try for sure.”

In addition, Real Madrid are always looking for the game’s top stars to add to their squad and having saved money from the signing of Kylian Mbappe this year, a door could open for Bellingham in 2023.

“Real Madrid are looking for midfielders as always. They have [Eduardo] Camavinga and [Aurelien] Tchouameni, two fantastic players. But they are following Bellingham since long time, so let’s see.”

Additionally, the two Manchester clubs can afford the sport’s top players and Bellingham will be a target, with United having been interested in him from his days at Birmingham City.

Chelsea as well, could see a change in plans with the Blues having signed Graham Potter as their new manager last week to take over from Thomas Tuchel.

“In England, all the top clubs, not just Liverpool, are tracking Bellingham. Manchester City, for sure, but also Manchester United have been following Bellingham for a long time, so many clubs will be in the race.”

“This summer Chelsea didn’t move on Bellingham because they had other kinds of targets. But who knows next summer if Chelsea will decide to jump into it or not? Now with [Graham] Potter, new manager, new direct relationship with Todd Boehly. Things can change.”

Borussia Dortmund will brace for another few months of transfer rumours having been busy with them over the last two years with Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho’s departures.
