Liverpool loanee Rhian Brewster has revealed both Jordan Henderson and James Milner have been in touch with him during his first loan move away from Anfield.
Brewster moved on loan to Swansea earlier in the month to team up with former Liverpool and England youth coach Steve Cooper until the end of the season.
Having scored his first goal since arriving in South Wales on Saturday, helping the Swans move into fifth place in the hunt for a play-off spot, Brewster revealed those back at Anfield have been keeping tabs on how he's getting on.
“There's a loan manager that I talk to, but I talk to everyone. Milly (James Milner) texted me last week, Hendo (Jordan Henderson) texted me this week,” he told the ECHO.
“I still keep in contact with the boys which is good and I thank them that they're still thinking of me, which is good. I'm just looking forward to playing for the Swans for the rest of the season.”
Adding: “I've started the first two and it's good to be around them everyday, I'm enjoying it, and also coming out and playing games.
“Hopefully I can keep pushing on, stay injury free and just keep pushing and scoring goals.”
Having already won a Champions League winners' medal and being part of the FIFA Club World Cup win last month, Brewster isn't phased by the prospect of being a 'marked man' in the Championship.
“I just try and play wherever I'm asked, whether that's upfront, left wing or right wing," he said.
“I just try and play the best I can.
“As you say I've got a big reputation but I just love the game and just keep trying to work hard.
“I don't really think about that when I'm playing, I just play the game that comes my way and just try and help the team as best as possible.”
With Cooper keen to reunite with the 19-year-old having seen his talents first-hand when working with him at youth level, Brewster knows he's required to do more than just score goals.
“Obviously I'm trying to bring that with me here because Coops (Steve Cooper) likes to press too.
“It's just like coming from Liverpool too and I've just got to keep working at it and get fit.”
