Richards: Kane has reached another level

Richards believes Kane's finishing ability has "reached a new level" after scoring for England again in their 2-0 victory over the Czech Republic.

"I was recently part of a discussion about who was better between Rooney, Kane, and Shearer," he said on the podcast.

"I chose Shearer at the time. Growing up, his goals, headers, and overall performance were simply amazing.

"But now, I truly believe Kane has risen to another level. He's not particularly strong physically, nor is he exceptionally fast, but his ability to read the game is clearly a cut above the rest."

"He uses his body cleverly, but you wouldn't label him as physically dominant. However, his understanding of how to utilize his body is commendable.

"His finishing ability with both feet is extraordinary. The quality of his shots is excellent. He can strike with either foot and drift into spaces in the opponent's defense.

"I understand that Shearer and Kane are different types of players, both top strikers. But as soon as Kane enters the box, I almost never feel he'll miss; his shots usually find the target.

"Admittedly, he missed penalties against Spain and France in major tournaments. But once he's inside the penalty area, his finishing is incredibly sharp and lethal."
