Defender Andy Robertson insists Liverpool must focus on the task at hand when they visit Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old knows what to expect when the Reds arrive at the Rajko Mitic Stadium for their Group C clash and has called on the visitors to use the noise levels to their advantage.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, he said: 'We have experience of playing in these stadiums and we have to focus on the job in hand.

'Rome was a special atmosphere (last season) and we dealt with that pretty well.

'Walking down the tunnel we have to use that noise to our advantage.'

Shaqiri has not been included in Liverpool's travelling squad for the clash.

Speaking about his omission, boss Klopp said: 'I've made a lot of decisions in my life about team selection and the players accepted it.

'We are here to play football and we want to focus on that. People here know the situation better.

'We have to cool the situation down. That's the world, that's how it is, politics has always influenced life. It could've been a story but we didn't want a story other than a football story.

'We have to be very strong football-wise. We are from Liverpool so we know how important atmosphere can be.

'Let's do what we are best at - playing football - and try to win the game.'
