Sunday will be remembered as a day of great triumph for Manchester City, as Pep Guardiola's charges came from 2-0 down against Aston Villa to win 3-2 and secure another Premier League crown, yet the day ended on a sour note as opposition goalkeeper Robin Olsen was assaulted by fans.
Manchester City supporters invaded the pitch in celebration of their fourth Premier League title in five years, yet a minority were involved in multiple skirmishes with the Villa shot-stopper.
It's unclear exactly what sparked off the issues, and whether it was merely a matter of proximity, but Olsen was clearly shaken up as he finally reached the tunnel.
Aston Villa coach Steven Gerrard was livid when asked about the incident in his post-match press conference, refusing to answer questions about it and merely saying it was something Manchester City had to explain.
Manchester City's response
The English champions have since released a statement and public apology to Olsen, vowing to find the perpetrators of the assaults and punish them accordingly.
"Manchester City would like to sincerely apologise to Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen, who was assaulted after the final whistle at today's match when fans entered the pitch," read a club statement.
"The club has launched an immediate investigation and once identified, the individual responsible will be issued with an indefinite stadium ban."

i see Olsen being attacked by fans who hit him with their hands on his head prove he rightly deserved it for letting Man City win 3-2 for their comeback win if he never allow them back. no fans can enter the field
