Rodri asked to leave Man City "every day" as Spain star makes transfer feelings clear

Real Madrid's Dani Carvajal has been on a charm offensive, trying to lure Rodri away from Manchester City.

The Spanish full-back has not been shy about his desire to see the defensive midfielder join him at the La Liga giants, saying that he pleads with him "every day" to quit the Premier League champions.

Rodri, who has become a pivotal player for Pep Guardiola, will team up with Carvajal for Spain in the Euro 2024 final against England on Sunday night.

Carvajal, the Madrid veteran, has been playfully suggesting that Rodri should ditch the Mancunian weather for the sunny climes of Madrid, home to the serial Champions League winners.

Speaking to Spanish publication Tiempo de Juego, via the Manchester Evening News, Carvajal said: "I tell Rodri every day to sign for Real Madrid.

"I tell him every day to leave Manchester, that there is no sun there and to come to Madrid that we need him."

Despite Carvajal's persistent nudging, Rodri remains committed to his current club, with the right-back admitting: "He tells me he has a contract... but he would be perfect for us."

Rodri himself has previously praised Guardiola and his experience at Manchester City, saying: "People like Pep are special because of their hunger.

"Honestly, you don't know how it will be until you come here. But the Premier League, Manchester, I think it's something special. The way you guys understand football.

"Here in England it's so demanding. It's so competitive, they always demand the best of you, the crowds are always full, they love their teams, they want them to win and this is something special."
