Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes started on Wednesday night in the European Supercup and did not play badly in their 2-0 win over Atalanta. Generally, the Spanish media have come up acronyms for the famous front threes at Barcelona and Real Madrid, but it was the ‘BMV’ on the front cover of Marca on Friday morning: Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.
There was no sign of Rodrygo. He has undoubtedly been the player that most people have pointed to as the victim of Mbappe’s arrival, potentially seeing him drop out the team. Carlo Ancleotti showed this week that all four can feature, but it remains to be seen whether that will be the case.
He will be going nowhere this summer though. Despite Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola admiring the player greatly, Rodrygo’s camp have told Cadena SER that he will not be leaving this summer, and does not want to win trophies anywhere else, be it City or any other club. This is backed up by Fabrizio Romano, who has told Caught Offside that he is completely focused on Real Madrid, and there are no talks with other clubs.
