Tammy Abraham has played down fears he'll be out for a while with the Roma striker confident he'll return to action immediately after the winter break.
Abraham was forced off in the 47th minute of Roma's 1-1 draw with Sampdoria on Wednesday night after suffering a right ankle problem.
There were concerns that Abraham could be out for a while, but the England international insists that he'll be ready to play for their Serie A trip to AC Milan on January 6.
Seen walking gingerly out of the Stadio Olimpico, Abraham told fans post-match: 'The ankle is fine, it hurts a bit. I'll be there for Milan though. Merry Christmas and Forza Roma.'
Abraham's assertions seemed to be back up by Jose Mourinho who, although concerned, doesn't believe the injury is too serious.
'I only saw blood, nothing more,' the Roma manager said. 'He couldn't walk, in the second half we risked a bit because we lost a substitution. I don't think it's serious, but he's definitely not well.'
Abraham is enjoying a fine debut season in the Italian capital so far since joining from Chelsea in the summer. The 24-year-old is the club's top goalscorer in all competitions with 12 goals in 25 matches.
Roma currently sit sixth in Serie A, six points behind Atalanta who occupy the last Champions League spot.
