Romano posted on social media that Andoni Iraola will sign a two-year contract with Liverpool, valid until June 2028. He has already been involved in the team's transfer plans and strategy.
According to Romano, Iraola requested a two-year contract, just as he had done at AFC Bournemouth.
Previously, Liverpool officially announced Slot’s departure. Subsequently, Romano reported that Iraola would become Liverpool’s new head coach, while Rose would take over as the new head coach of AFC Bournemouth.
During his playing career, Iraola was a legendary figure at Athletic Bilbao and a youth academy teammate of current Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. After retiring, he began coaching AFC Bournemouth in 2023, and this season he led AFC Bournemouth on an 18-match unbeaten streak, guiding the club to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League and qualification for European competition for the first time in history.
