Romeo Beckham, son of England and Manchester United legend David, and Harvey Neville, son of Phil, both got a taste of first team football as they made cameo appearances for Inter Miami against Barcelona.
The young pair's dads enjoyed a number of thrilling duels with Barcelona during their time at Manchester United, with David Beckham famously scoring at Old Trafford against the Catalan side in a 3-3 draw in the 1998-99 season.
While David, who was on holiday, was not present to see his 19-year-old son turn out against stars such as Frenkie de Jong and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, he will no doubt have been bursting with pride to see him get first-team minutes for the club he owns.
So too that of Harvey Neville, with the 20-year-old's whole family - including uncle and prominent Sky Sports pundit Gary - making the trip Stateside to see him play 45 minutes.
The Beckham and Neville sons typically feature for Inter Miami 11, a third division team that had five of it's group in the matchday squad for the friendly against Barcelona.
Beckham Jnr has only recently returned to football after a five-year absence.
He swapped the sport for tennis in 2015 after a brief spell in Arsenal's youth set-up, but returned to football in 2021 when he joined Miami, a club founded by his dad in 2018.
Romeo, the second oldest of Beckham's four children, was playing after his shock split with Storm Models client Mia Regan following three years together
Harvey Neville started his football career in the youth ranks of Manchester United, just like his dad, who was part of the famed Class of 92 that included Beckham, before he spent time with Manchester City and then Valencia, where his uncle Gary spent time as a manager, with Phil as his assistant.
Neville made his competitive debut for Inter Miami as an late substitute for DeAndre Yedlin against Tormenta FC back in May but 45 minutes against Barcelona represents his most high-profile outing to date.
This would have been extra special for all involved with his uncle Gary posting a family photo from a box at the stadium.
The Sky Sports analyst sported an Inter Miami shirt with Neville on the back and he shared a series of Instagram stories documenting watching his nephew play, and his brother as the manager.
'It was a brilliant occasion to play, you could feel the buzz in the air, the supporters,' said head coach Phil Neville.
'I thought it was a brilliant learning experience for all involved, I thought that we had to dig in, we had to fight.'
