Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Mohamed Salah have made the final three for FIFA's The Best Men's Player of the Year award.
Ronaldo and Modric both helped Real Madrid to Champions League glory prior to the former's move to Juventus, with Salah scoring an incredible 44 goals in all competitions for Liverpool.
That means that there's no place in the final three for Barcelona sensation Lionel Messi, despite his exploits in helping the Catalan giants win the Liga title last season.
Ronaldo, who won the award last year, is used to facing stiff competition from the diminutive striker but still has a battle on his hands to retain 'The Best' trophy.
Salah has been a revelation for Liverpool, scoring 43 goals in all competitions last season for the Reds and helping to fire Jurgen Klopp's side to the Champions League final, where he was forced off after suffering a shoulder injury.
Real Madrid went on to defend their title in the European showpiece, and despite the fact that he didn't score, Ronaldo lifted the trophy for the fifth time in his career.
The Portuguese has since moved to Juventus for £100m but will be competing with ex-team-mate Modric in the Best Male Player of the Year category.
The Croatian starred for his side on their unlikely run to the World Cup final this summer and was at the heart of Zinedine Zidane's Real side.

Honestly it should be for Cristiano Ronaldo honestly he deserves this award he played a very key and important role for Madrid last season he was the top goal scorer scoring one of the best goals in the competition..He deserves this award my second choice would be Luka MODRIC he played an important role too without him.madrid wouldn't have smelt their third Champoins League, Salah did well but sadly he didn't win any trophy....But still it's great being among the top three but honestly Ronaldo is the player that deserved this award ...CR7

I don't have any problem with who are in the top three because all of them did well and deserves to be their but for me luka modric deserves it the most because he perform both at club level and internation level. Although many persons will say so did Ronaldo to but for me for a player to carry his team to the finals is a big burden but yet still modric proved he can do it, so that's why I would like him to win it

All those Ronaldo and Madrid fans who are launching at Messi and his fans should be happy we all know that Messi didn't have a good world cup because Argentina did do enough to help him go forward so we some of the Messi fans we know that it's will be difficult for Messi to be in the top 3 and am surprised about Griezmann not being in the top 3 because he deserves to be there but all the same Ronaldo and his fans should expect another loss in this award because it's for Modric again......1)Modric 2)Ronaldo 3)Salah.....😂😂😂😂

Sorry CR7, it has backfired on your move to Turin. Hence. Croatian Master piece Modric had overrode you. (Salah is just a fun time selection). Luka Modric is gonna beat the best of all. Believe that

Even a kid understands that both Mbappe and Griezman was better than salah..They have won trophies european , world cup and domestic ..But salah not even winning a single trophy and goals less than messi being in the top 3 proves Fifa is Biased and all are given for just popularity and not for achievements...This award deserves for either Modric or Griezmann and Messi obviously should be on the list . .

People shouting about Messi should be there or Salah should win or Ronaldo should win. But nobody talks about VARANE & MBAPPE. Winning wise VARANE was solid for record CL and worldcup winning team. Whereas MBAPPE won Coupe de France, Coupe de la ligue, trophee des champions and league one and finally worldcup. Not only these two were on team but were beast on their positions. These should have been nominated on top 3 along with one from Ronaldo or Messi or Gerizman but winner should be one of the former two. Like the fact or not but football now has all been goalscorers.
