Cristiano Ronaldo was all smiles as he celebrated his first birthday in Juventus colours on Tuesday as he trained having turned 34.

The Portuguese star has his eyes fixed on Sunday's Serie A trip to face Sassuolo and was in no mood to miss training as he marked his big day.

Earlier in the day, the former Real Madrid attacker relaxed at home playing football with his one-year-old son Mateo before later closing the day with a birthday cake at his family home.

Juventus fans quickly took to social media on Tuesday morning to mark Ronaldo's birthday by copying his trademark celebration.

In a special interview with the club's in-house media team, Ronaldo thanked everyone for their birthday messages and said he is delighted to be spending it in Italy for the first time.

'I'm happy that today I have my birthday and it is good to be here in Italy,' he said. 'What I have to say to the fans is thank you for the messages, the support and I am so happy here in Juventus.'

Earlier in the day Ronaldo's girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez shared a video on Instagram of the Juventus star enjoying down time with his family at home.

In the clip, son Mateo, who turns two in June this year, shows impressive coordination for his age to repeatedly boot the ball back to his father.

Ronaldo arrived in Turin for £88million in the summer and he quickly found his feet, scoring 17 goals so far.

The Old Lady brought in Ronaldo in a bid to get them a first Champions League title since 1996. The 34-year-old has won four of the last five with Real Madrid.

Juventus take on last season's Europa League winners Atletico Madrid next in a fascinating double-header for the neutrals.

Having spent time with his youngest son and put in a hard day's work on the training ground, Ronaldo brought the curtain down on his birthday celebrations back at home.

Alongside his oldest son, Cristiano Jnr, and girlfriend Rodriguez, Ronaldo uploaded a photo to his Instagram page sat in front of a birthday cake.

Both Ronaldo and Juventus will hope his present is delayed until the weekend as he bids to add to his goal tally and fire the Italian champions past Sassuolo.
