Cristiano Ronaldo has come under an astonishing attack from a former Juventus defender who believes the Portuguese superstar has zero respect for his team-mates at the Italian champions.
Ronaldo moved to Juve from Real Madrid in 2018 and has been a big success thus far leading them to two Italian titles having scored 72 goals across 90 games in all competitions.
But Pasquale Bruno, who made 67 Serie A appearances between 1987 and 1990 for Juventus has blasted the Portugal star for his failure to learn the Italian language following his move to Turin.
'He is ignorant,' the 58-year-old said during an appearance on Tiki Taka. 'He has been in Italy for two years and has not yet learned to speak our language. He uses Spanish to express himself. He has no respect for his team-mates or for the Italians.'
Despite Bruno's comments, Ronaldo seems to have favour in the dressing room at the Allianz Stadium, with team-mate Juan Cuadrado insisting the 35-year-old is eager to feature and is a huge benefit to the side.
Speaking after Ronaldo's return from a coronavirus-enforced lay-off he said: 'Ronaldo is very happy, he couldn't wait to come back and play. You saw that from the moment he stepped onto the pitch [against Spezia].
'He's an extra weapon for us, we all know what he gives to the team. He is very confident and that helps us too, passing on the professionalism and desire to win that we all ought to have.'
Having missed Juve's Champions League defeat by Barcelona last time out, manager Andrea Pirlo is ready to welcome back his star man for the home clash with Ferencvaros following his domestic return in scoring a brace at Spezia.
Despite his importance to the team though it is reported he is still looking to leave the club once his current deal expires in 2022.
According to Tuttosport, the forward's relationship with the Italian giants is 'unromantic' and he will not be looking to extend his stay in Turin.
Ronaldo previously stated he would like to play until he is 40 and in the last year he has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain as he prepares for the final few chapters of his career at the top.
Despite interest from the United States and China, Ronaldo still believes he can mix it among Europe's elite for a few more years and PSG have been monitoring his situation.

He knows the language of 'scoring goals' and that's more than enough. Knowing any other language is a bonus.

This man know how to speak a lot of other languages like Portuguese (National team), English (Man United), Spanish (Real Madrid) and now Italian (Juventus). It’s four. Tbh me I speaks 4 languages as well but I’m only professional at speaking my birth language and English. It took me a lot of time to speak English when I could have speak the other three. Soo he is not ignorant it takes time to learn a language like Italian. I can speak creole (Haiti), French, Spain and English. That’s a lot to remember. #ronaldoisnotignorant
