Cristiano Ronaldo astonished fans and team-mates alike as he gave a shocking tell-all interview about feeling betrayed by Manchester United.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner appeared concentrated and confident in his brutal critique of the Red Devils but gradually grew more agitated when talking about the current state of the club.
Here, expert JUDI JAMES breaks down what we can learn about the five-time Ballon d'Or winner the clip of his extraordinary interview with Piers Morgan.
The anger and resentment looks obvious from Ronaldo’s body language and the constant use of sustained eye contact with an open, rounded eye shape suggests he is more than comfortable and confident talking about United in this explosive interview.
We don’t see his body in these clips but there appears to be a steepling gesture with his thumbs which would signal power and status.
When talking about being ‘forced out’ Ronaldo’s facial movements become asymmetric, suggesting a mixture of complex thoughts.
His left eyebrow rises and he performs a micro-snarl with a raising of one side of his upper lip as his eyes close in a momentary cut-off so signal he is masking some deeper emotions but then there is a tongue-poke gesture that will normally signal rejection or disgust, followed by an angry-looking lower jaw-jut.
The former Real Madrid star then said: 'Some people, they don't want me here - not only the coach but the other two or three guys. Not only this year, but last year too.
'Honestly, I shouldn't say that. But listen, I don't care. People should listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed.'
The word ‘betrayed’ prompts an eyebrow-flash and a tightening of his lips which again will usually signal anger.
He performs a mouth shrug as though trying to suggest it’s not a big deal but the shrug turns into more of a snarl.
The Man United winger then talks on the lack of development at the club since Sir Alex Ferguson's departure.
He performs a head-jut that seems to mime the act of heading a ball. This looks like an announcement gesture that he has decided to go for it and speak his mind.
Ronaldo then launched an attack on former Manchester United interim coach Ralf Rangnick. 'This guy is not even a coach. A big club like Manchester United bringing in a sport directive surprised not only me but all the world.'
When he says ‘he’s not even a coach’ he performs gestures that signal shock and dismissiveness. His eyes roll upward to signal that dismissive thinking and he jolts his head as though miming his shock and exasperation at the posting.
Moaning about the state of the club’s technology, gym and even the kitchen, Ronaldo performs a double gesture when he points to his eye to perform what is both a partial cut-off but also to suggest how perceptive he has been, then another tongue-poke to signal that rejection and disgust again.
He added: 'Since Sir Alex Ferguson left I saw no evolution in the club, the progress was zero.
'Nothing changed. Not only the pool, the jacuzzi, even the gym. They stopped in time, which surprised me a lot.'

I'm not a Ronaldo fans, but he actually speaks the truth. He expressed is feelings. somethings are not going right at Manchester United since Ferguson left. imagine they sacked Mourinho that won three trophies and since then they have never won a trophy. If you can remember Van Gaal even adviced Ten Hag not to go to Man U. something is going underneath. although Ronaldo might have is own negative behaviors buy he actually said the right thing this time. ,,,
