The Juventus manager thinks Cristiano Ronaldo will want to move clear of Lionel Messi once again in the club goalscoring stakes.
Cristiano Ronaldo will be inspired to finish the season as Serie A's top goalscorer after watching Lionel Messi's latest feat, according to Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Barcelona star Messi scored twice to inspire his side to a 3-0 Champions League semi-final first-leg win over Liverpool on Wednesday, reaching 600 club goals in the process.
Ronaldo was first to that landmark after netting in Juve's 1-1 draw with Inter last Saturday - his 27th strike since his move from Real Madrid last year.
He trails Messi by 21 goals this season, though, and is three behind Fabio Quagliarella in the race to finish as the top marksman in Serie A in 2018-19.
But Allegri thinks the 34-year-old will be fired up in the derby clash with Torino on Friday given Messi has caught him in the goalscoring stakes.
Allegri: "Messi is a good stimulus for Cristiano"
"Messi is a good stimulus for Cristiano," he told a news conference on Thursday. "We have a derby and Messi achieved that [600 goals] yesterday.
"He will be fired up to move ahead in the scoring and he aims to finish as top-scorer in Serie A."
Allegri also had words of praise for Aaron Ramsey, who will join the Serie A champions on a free transfer from Arsenal at the end of the season.
The Wales international has already played his last game for the Gunners, with a hamstring injury to keep him out of the final two Premier League matches and the Europa League semi-final with Valencia.
"He is a quality player, with goals in his legs, a lot of energy and great timing. He's a great signing," Allegri said.

one thing I always didn't respect Ronaldo for....he's selfish. he is not mature enough to congratulate persons on their success. he believes the spotlight should always be on him. now, without a shadow of a doubt this guy is class. he is definitely one of the best....and in some aspects of the game he is the best. but this is one such moment where you shud be man enough and congratulate rather than hate. definition of a bad minded person.

listen guys we all that we are living in the era where two G.O.A.T are getting compare.Listen we all appreciate Messi that for reaching to an incredible mark , every player has a good or bad or average season. Past 3 years Ronaldo was shinning so everyone said that he's the best but I just wanna say that plz don't compare them . Football is not called a beautiful game .It has reasons so stop comparing them and watch them. Ronaldo don't have anyone in the youth who can help him. Messi was born with his dribbling talent and Ronaldo has shown the hard work that no one can do not even Messi . so plz we all have our favorite player . Think when they will retire we will miss them so badly because there will no such talent born like them even in the future. So Watch them play.

I notice that Some of you Ronaldo fanboys are now posting comments under the disguise of being a Juve, Manu, Liverpool, Chelsea or Real Madrid fan. All you do is infiltrate the fanbase of these clubs and hide behind thier badge. You're painting a bad image of the real fans of these clubs. Please stop it. You have been following cr7 from manu to madrid and now to juve. You're not fooling anyone bcuz once your post is read your true identity is revealed. Only cr7 fans hate Messi bcuz they're following an arrogant idol. A true football fan would never hate any player. Just bcuz you like cr7 doesn't mean you have to hate Messi ..... Shame on you ππ½ππ½ππ½ππ½
