Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr are being linked with a summer transfer for Moises Caicedo but Chelsea are not prepared to let the midfielder go for anything less than £100m

Moises Caicedo is being eyed up as a big summer signing for Al-Nassr this summer, according to reports, with the Chelsea midfielder top of the Saudi Pro League club’s wishlist. And that deal would see the most expensive signing in Premier League history joining Cristiano Ronaldo and company as heavy investment continues in the quickly-changing Saudi league.

Chelsea, who are gearing up to face Legia Warsaw in the second leg of their Europa Conference League tie, are not looking to sell Caicedo and Al-Nassr will be expected to pay around £100m for the 23-year-old South American. The story was first reported by the Telegraph.

Caicedo, who is just two years into an eight year contract, moved to Stamford Bridge from Brighton in the summer of 2024 for £115 million and initially struggled to impress under Mauricio Pochettino. But he has played more minutes than anyone else under Enzo Maresca this season as Chelsea look to secure a top five finish in addition to their European hopes.

Caicedo has scored once and provided two assists, along with incurred nine yellow cards, but his current head coach recently spoke of his admiration for the Ecuador international.

“In this moment I think he is one of the best or the best defensive midfielders in the world. He is doing fantastic,” Maresca said earlier this month.

“The best thing about Moi is that everyday he is working serious, he is very humble, very kind, he is polite, he is a fantastic guy.”

Chelsea, however, are skirting a fine line around financial fair play regulations with the decision to sell the women’s team to their owners’ holding company BlueCo still being analysed by the Premier League over whether it met their fair market value guidelines.

Another summer of big spending is unlikely to occur without significant sales, while much will also depend on reaching next season’s Champions League.

He would be just the latest high-profile signing from the Premier League for Al-Nassr after they brought in centre back Aymeric Laporte from Manchester City and paid Aston Villa £71million for Jhon Duran in January.
