Roy Keane, on a rare appearance on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, revealed his top three pundits - rather shockingly perhaps omitting Micah Richards.
In a light-hearted section after Jamie Carragher and Keane had eviscerated Aston Villa's attacking display following a drab 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, the former Manchester United had a series of top three questions put to him.
Having teased the questions before the game, it appeared the one relating to Keane's favourite punditry colleagues sparked the most intrigue.
Perhaps wishing to cause a bit of mischief with his friend Richards, Keane listed Graeme Souness, Carragher and Gary Neville as his top three.
'I have to go with Jamie (Carragher), we have done a deal. What does help is listening to people like Jamie who are very passionate,' he said.
'I think (Gary) Neville is really good, I'll have to go with Nev because as I always say, I want tickets for the Salford games.
'I like Graeme Souness. Growing up I watched him as a player, I thought he was a brilliant player so he always had that influence on me the way he played. What he won. I have done some work with him and he thinks along the same lines as me.'
With Dave Jones perhaps looking to stir the pot, he said 'spare a thought for poor Micah Richards right now'. Keane responded: 'I'm not picking him, no chance.'
Asked what he thought about pundits during his playing days, Keane responded in typical fashion saying he 'didn't take much notice'.
He said: 'Well, there's obviously a lot more football on the television than when we were playing. But I don't think I ever took too much notice.'
Meanwhile, Carragher listed his three favourites and said: 'I'll go with Roy. He is the master of cutting through the nonsense me and Neville come out with. One word can light up the studio, there is no one better than that.
'I would have to say my companion Gary, the detail he goes into, and big Micah Richards. He brings that light-heartedness. That is the three I like working with best.'
Other lists Keane and Carragher were asked to collate included their three favourite Premier League players currently, their top three managers and their favourite films of all time.
Keane listed Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo as his top three current players in the division, while Carragher opted for the first two but switched Virgil van Dijk out for the Portuguese.
The Irishman chose Graham Potter, Thomas Frank and Pep Guardiola as his favourite coaches. Speaking about Potter, Keane said: 'I like Graham Potter at Chelsea. I just like the way his teams play, how he comes across in the media, and I like the chance he has been given at Chelsea.
'He is settling really well, and every time he speaks in interviews he comes across really well.'
Elsewhere, there was further agreement when it came to their favourite films with both opting for the classic One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, starring Jack Nicholson.
'My favourite movie is "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest", that is my favourite of all time. Hilariously funny. "The Usual Suspects" the twist at the end. Number three, I'm sure I will get the seal of approval from Roy 'The Commitments',' Carragher said.
'Brilliant choices I have to say. "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest' is definitely in my top three, "There Will be Blood" and "Shawshank Redemption"', Keane responded.
Keane selected his former teammates to Wayne Rooney and Ronaldo in his top three favourite players of the Premier League era alongside former foe Thierry Henry.

mr Jamie, one most not be at his best all the time. try to avoid or stop criticizing players. I espect you as an x footballer to understand more better than a common man who has not played the game. you have criticize Ronaldo until most people feel you are jealous of him .
