Manchester United may look to strengthen their squad next month, with Ruben Amorim's side now languishing 14th in the Premier League.
United have lost their last three games across all competitions, having crashed out of the Carabao Cup with a 4-3 defeat to Tottenham before failing to score in back-to-back defeats to Bournemouth and Wolves.
Amorim clearly needs some reinforcements and United may need to sell players before they can sanction any incomings. Marcus Rashford looks likely to depart Old Trafford after being left out of Amorim's last four matchday squads, while Antony's agent has revealed there is interest in his services.
With that said, Mirror Football takes a look at some of the biggest transfer stories surrounding Old Trafford.
Olmo eyed
United are one of several Premier League sides who may look to capitalise on Barcelona's financial problems by making a January swoop for Dani Olmo.
Olmo was only registered on a temporary arrangement until the end of 2024 following his move back to Barcelona from RB Leipzig and he would be able to leave on a free transfer in January after the commercial court of Barcelona rejected an appeal from the club.
And the Daily Mail are reporting that United, Manchester City and Arsenal are all ready to make a move if Olmo is available next month. The report adds that his agent, Andy Bara, has begun exploring Olmo's options.
Cunha battle
Arsenal are set to rival United for the signature of Wolves star Matheus Cunha, with both clubs eyeing a move for the forward.
However, Mirror Football understands that Wolves have no plans to cash in on Cunha midway through the season - unless they receive an offer too big to reject. Cunha is Wolves' top goalscorer this season with 10 Premier League strikes and he will be crucial as they look to avoid relegation.
"In my opinion he's a player who can reach high standards in this league," Wolves boss Vitor Pereira told Amazon Prime after their win over United. When asked if Cunha could leave in January, Pereira added: "I hope not, I hope not because we need him."
Amorim urged to axe stars
Alan Shearer believes Amorim needs to "get rid" of a number of players if United are to get back to their best, with the former England striker claiming that much of the current squad is simply "not good enough".
"Results, issues off the field, Rashford," Shearer said while discussing United's Boxing Day defeat to Wolves on BBC Match of the Day. "He [Amorim] said it himself, they’re going to have to suffer for a while.
"And they are, because clearly a lot of the players at that football club are not good enough. He has to be able to get rid of players and be allowed to bring players in who he feels can suit his system. But they are miles off it."

Manchester united are struggling to get a new left back when Harry Amass is available. They are waiting untill they lose him so that they'll start buying him back again. Look at Alvarez in Benfica now, he is untouchable and Manchester united want to activate the buy back clause but it will depend on player side decision.

How much is both players that we can't afford? Olmo can play what Bruno is playing at Man United and Cunha can also play as a striker or supportive striker.

I don’t mind his pace He can carry the ball from left side to right side n we haven’t got tht kind of player for a long time Perfect physique good dribbling skill but lacks pace He needs to be utilized carefully n I believe he will be a huge weapon for us

Exactly why won’t you play Amad on the wing back position where he has been supper good and play other players behind the striker to have more attacking force?? Haven’t he noticed that attacking has been really poor since he started playing amad on the double 10 position??
To play amad at attacking number 10 its not bad idea but problem is we have no other wingbck to what he was doing creating good perfomance in ateam should not destroy other players perfomance

When Enzor Maresca dropped all those over rated and over-blotted English players at Chelsea everyone was shouting why, but today the same pundits are saying sell Rashford. Yeah because it's Manchester United. Double standard!!!

When will Man United have players that are good enough? Remember the same thing was said when ETH took over the reigns at the club.
