Watford’s relegation has seen Liverpool linked with Ismaila Sarr - and Sadio Mane might get his transfer wish.
Mane and Sarr both started their career in Senegal’s Generation Foot academy before making their way to Europe.
Sarr has branded Mane his “big brother” with the feelings certainly mutual as the Reds superstar looks out for his international team-mate.
After a game against Watford earlier this season, Mane was caught on camera asking Hornets captain Troy Deeney to look out for his friend.
When Sarr headed to Vicarage Road from Rennes last summer, Mane joked to The Athletic he was “a bit jealous”.
Why?
“Because I won’t see him in Liverpool,” he added.
But it appears that 12 months on there is some hope of Mane getting his transfer wish and playing alongside Sarr at club level.
The Watford Observer claim the Reds are one of a number of clubs keen on the electric winger after their relegation from the top flight.
And Mane’s comments on Sarr as well as the raw potential he showed in his debut campaign give Liverpool fans reason to be excited.
“He’s rapid,” Mane said of Sarr. “I think defenders will struggle.
“Last time I was speaking to Robbo (Andy Robertson) I said ‘Watford have a really good player. I will need to help you more otherwise Ismaila Sarr will kill you, because he is a good dribbler and very, very fast’.”
If the temptation of playing for the Premier League champions is not enough, then it seems there is little doubt Sarr would be keen to be alongside Mane on a daily basis.
“Mane is not only a Senegal team-mate of mine but he is my inspiration and idol,” Sarr said previously.
“It will be perfect for me to play against him again. For me he is the best player in the world. For sure, the best African player in Europe.
“He’s our national team leader but he’s also a nice guy and I love him.”

True love from two African men 💯❤️ we need more of this. If Sancho would not come cheap then we should take a look at this boy, Neville also spoke about him so I think he should be a great potential, but I understand why we'd prefer Sancho, because he's also young, British and has experience in Europe as such age, with alot of goals and assist at just 20. I need he would be a perfect buy
