Whilst AS Saint-Étienne have been working to bring players in in recent weeks, there will inevitably be some big-name departures. The buy options included in the loans of Maxime Bernauer and Irvin Cardona have been triggered, whilst Israel international Mahmoud Jaber has also arrived at the club.
However, there are naturally doubts regarding the futures of Lucas Stassin (20) and Zuriko Davitashvili (24). The former, a Belgium U21 international, excelled in the second half of last season, finishing the campaign with 12 goals and five assists in Ligue 1. The latter, an arrival from Girondins de Bordeaux, also put up good numbers. He finished the Ligue 1 season with nine goals and eight assists.
L’Équipe understands that it is unlikely that either player will make the drop to Ligue 2 with Saint-Étienne, following their relegation. Their asking prices have now been set. As per L’Équipe, Stassin is valued at €20m, whilst Davitashvili is valued between €15-20m.
