Saka: Premier League title gives us confidence, team morale is high

Ahead of the Champions League final, Arsenal striker Saka gave an interview to UEFA's official website.

Bukayo, one goal has been achieved, now it's time to achieve the second. How prepared are you and the team?

We are ready. We've been immersed in the joy of celebrating the Premier League title for the past week, but we know this game is very important and we have a chance to make history, so everyone is very excited.

The intensity of the games at the end of the season has always been very high, hasn't it? You just mentioned the Premier League title. I'd like to know what the team's current morale is like?

Very good. I think winning the Premier League title obviously brings a different spirit to the teammates, bringing joy, energy and confidence. We are going into this game as Premier League champions. So, yes, I would say the whole team is in high spirits.

From a personal perspective, you might be facing one of the best full-backs in world football – Nuno Mendes, who has just been confirmed fit. Do you enjoy this one-on-one duel?

One hundred percent, one hundred percent. This is exactly the kind of game I love and the one that brings out my best. So I'm very much looking forward to it.

Finally, as an Arsenal fan and a club academy graduate, if you were to win the Champions League tomorrow, could you describe in words what that would mean to you?

It's really hard to put into words. Yes, it's been a long time since this club reached the Champions League final, and it has never won this trophy. So I think, I just need to say that much. You can all understand the rest. If we can do it, then tomorrow night will be an incredibly special night for this club.
