Mohamed Salah has had the most 'big chances' in the Premier League since the start of the 2017/18 season, but it's Manchester City's Raheem Sterling who has the highest conversion rate.
Statistics compiled by Opta reveal that Salah leads the way in terms of the number of big chances that he has had since the start of last season with 50.
The Liverpool forward only scored 22 of those that fell his way but Raheem Sterling tops the charts for conversion rate with 54 per cent after he scored 15 of his 28 big chances.
Many will be surprised to learn that Sterling is as deadly in front of goal as the statistics suggest, but the data only encompasses what Opta deem to be a 'big chance'.
The official line from Opta is that a big chance is 'a situation where a player should reasonably be expected to score, usually in a one on one scenario or from very close range when the ball has a clear path to goal and there is low to moderate pressure on the shooter. Penalties are always considered big chances.'
Harry Kane is not far behind Salah with 45 big chances but he has also scored 22 of those, meaning his conversion rate is slightly superior at 49 per cent compared with Salah's 44 per cent.
Elswehre, Sergio Aguero's efficiency in front of goal is also highlighted, with 16 goals from 30 big chances - a conversion rate of 53 per cent, making him the second highest.
But look away Crystal Palace fans, Christian Benteke has converted just three of his 27 big chances since the start of last season.
Things are not much better for Chelsea, with £70million striker Alvaro Morata struggling to find his shooting boots too.
The Spaniard has scored just 10 of the 28 big chances that fell his way, meaning he missed well other half of those opportunities.

Cannot work out why Benteke has failed so badly at Palace. His confidence looks low but unless he improves I fear Palace will go down this year.

Are you sure about Stirling ? So how has Aguero started this season and how many has he scored. Guffaw

When you creeps pen the next article about the price of his new car or his next tattoo, the experts will be telling him to work on his finishing instead. Now that the stats prove your criticism lacks substance are you going to admit that it's about race? I doubt it. You guys will just look for something else to complain about.

Yes best conversion rate until he puts on an England shirt!

All those penalties that Harry Kane scores for England come from Raheem Sterling winning them...Salah is missing a lot of goals and he gets a pass....smh...

So going by that salah is not very good at all really, see you can score goals but it's how many chances you need to score those goals and salah clearly needs more chances than most!!!!!! LMFAO

Put Sterling in another team and he wouldn't know what to do with the ball at his feet.

Just shows why Pep continues to play him. Everyone moans when he misses simple chances but City fans have forgotten the amount of last minute goals he scored against oppositions that park the train.

This is good that your manager can/will put you in a position to score on the pitch, if you go with the tactics being given to you.

Shows how much he is derided, if anyone else was producing as much as Sterling has been for City, you wouldn't hear the end of it

Pity Sterling can't score regularly in an England shirt; then again he hasn't got Silva laying on tap ins for him every Saturday

So what?? Out of 3 shots, each of mentioned players score a goal, no big gap at all for top players. Add key passes to this chart, and Salah wins by far.

you should play the same old way you relax with, I love your usual style when you fight to regain the ball and go with your speed to counter attack, also your aggressive attack in front of goal, all that usual combination..
