Liverpool are said to be tracking Israeli star Moanes Dabour - but that could create problems for one of their current superstars.
The Reds are reported to be keen on Red Bull Salzburg striker Dabour as they search for a back up to Roberto Firmino.
According to FootballWhispers chief scout Barry Hunter is even said to have been over to Austria to scout the player, who has netted 33 times in 65 games for Salzburg.
The 26-year-old has netted three times in 12 appearances for his national team since making his international debut in 2014.
Liverpool have a history of buying Jewish players, with the likes of Avi Cohen, Ronny Rosenthal and Yossi Benayoun starring at Anfield.
A run of the mill transfer story? Well, not really.
Now the Jerusalem Post are one of a number of outlets to allege that Egyptian superstar Salah could even contemplate his future at Liverpool if the move for Dabour happened.
But then they also cite those close to Salah as saying it's not the striker's concern who Liverpool sign.
Salah refused Maccabi handshakes in 2014
Back in 2014 Salah was said to have refused to shake the hands of Maccabi Tel Aviv players when they took on his then side FC Basel.
It became a major talking point in Swiss football with the notion he was placed under pressure by public opinion in his home country not to shake hands.
In the first leg he moved to the side of the pitch and changed his boots while the pre-match handshakes took place.
A week later in the second leg in Tel Aviv, he offered a fist-pump rather than a handshake to Maccabi players.
Back in 1967 the two countries fought 'the six day war' over territory.
However relations between the countries have improved of the past few years, especially after the 2013 Egyptian coup d'etat.
Although Liverpool are said to be monitoring Dabour, it is highly unlikely that they would to risk unsettling Salah.

His quit threat is inevitable if they sign an Israeli Player... Their is a political reason behind this .... Considering how Israeli Military forces have terrorised Palestine and raped and killed millions of Palestinian Muslims ...Israeli forces have murdered and violated human rights in Palestine and If Salah doesn't want to work with an Israeli man, there is nothing wrong in that considering he is a practicing Muslim...I think Mane and Shaqiri may also leave because they are Muslims too and it might lead to a dressing room conflict... I think Liverpool should avoid this Transfer

How does Moe Salah enjoy the tolerance and equality offered him in England? Maybe he is tired of the English style of peaceful coexistence?

I guess who wrote this article forgot to mention 1973 victory over Isreal and to correct him that 2013 is not a coup. You have to show respect I guess I should quit all football and delete this application for their unfairness

It’s not a political issue. Jews don’t like Muslims and Muslims don’t like Jews. It’s part of the religion.
it's neither politics nor religion it's about Israel killing innocent Palestinians and Torturing them
