Mohamed Salah finds himself at a crossroads at Liverpool, after his recent comments about his role in the squad have cast doubt over whether he'll remain at the club. It was only a few months ago that Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, issued a verdict about Arne Slot.

Salah was left on the bench for the third consecutive match at the weekend, watching from the sidelines as Liverpool twice surrendered a lead to draw 3-3 with Leeds United in a frustrating stalemate at Elland Road in the Premier League.

The disappointing result has intensified scrutiny on Slot following a challenging campaign, but Salah's post-match remarks have added fuel to the fire. In his interview with the media on Saturday, the Liverpool forward expressed his disappointment at being dropped and implied the Brighton fixture might be his final outing in a Reds shirt.

Amongst Salah's revelations was a startling admission about his relationship with the manager, following an unexpected turn of events in recent weeks.

"There's no relationship between us," Salah said about Slot. "It was a very good relationship, and now all of a sudden there is no relationship."

This has sparked speculation about whether Salah can mend his relationship with Slot, or whether a departure might be the only solution to resolve the situation, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Whilst rumours persist about a potential transfer, it's interesting to consider what his agent has previously said about the Liverpool manager.

Responding to an image of the Premier League standings back in February, Ramy Abbas posted on social media: "Excellent at his job."

With Slot clinching the Premier League title and Salah putting pen to paper on a new contract shortly after that tweet from his agent, it's evident that all parties were satisfied for a time.

The 33-year-old has been training since the interview as Liverpool prepare to take on Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday night; but Salah has not been included in the 19-man squad that will travel to Italy for the fixture.

Salah's final outing for Liverpool could then be this weekend against Brighton in the Premier League, where he says his family are invited, as he is unsure about what will unfold beyond that point.

The Liverpool No.11 will then head to AFCON with Egypt, where his future becomes even more uncertain with the January transfer window opening.

Clubs from the Saudi Pro League have been reported to have a long-standing interest in signing Salah, but there remains mere speculation at this point.
