Sancho completes Man Utd medical with transfer to go ahead in next 48 hours

Jadon Sancho will complete his £73million move to Manchester United by the end of this week.

The England winger has undergone a medical at United's AON Training Complex, with the deal expected to be formally confirmed within 48 hours.

United agreed a fee with Borussia Dortmund for Sancho – who missed a penalty in the Euro 2020 final shoot-out defeat to Italy at Wembley – on July 1, subject to a medical and personal terms.

Sancho, 21, has agreed a five-year deal – with an option for a sixth year – worth around £250,000-a-week.

He will return for pre-season training with United after a three-week break.

All United players involved at Euro 2020 will be handed an extended holiday, which means Sancho will not return for pre-season until August 2, with the new season starting 11 days later.

Sancho is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's second signing of the summer, after United brought goalkeeper Tom Heaton back to Old Trafford from Aston Villa as a free agent.

While Sancho is likely to be United's marquee signing of the summer, the club remains in talks with the representatives of Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.

Varane, 28, a World Cup winner with France, only has a year left on his current deal.

Real are understood to want £60m for him, with United only willing to pay £40m.

United are also considering a move for Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, 18, with Solskjaer's spending power significantly reduced because of the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
