Maurizio Sarri is set to target Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly as his first Juventus signing if he is appointed manager of the Serie A giants.
Koulibaly has been a long-term target of Manchester United's, with United believed to have been quoted in the region of £90m for the 27-year-old.
According to Tuttosport on Monday, Sarri will move for the defender as one of his first tasks upon becoming Juventus boss will be to overhaul an ageing backline.
Giorgino Chiellini is 35 in August while Andrea Barzagli has retired. And Sarri knows all about the strengths of Koulibaly, having coached him at Napoli.
The Italian manager is back in Italy and holding talks with Juventus, with the 60-year-old widely expected to leave his post at Chelsea in the coming weeks.
He enjoyed success at Stamford Bridge, steering them to third in the Premier League and Europa League glory, as well as a run to the League Cup final where they were beaten on penalties by Manchester City.
But his style of play failed to win over Chelsea supporters and with a vacancy now open at the biggest club in Italy, a parting of the ways in west London seems inevitable.
