Scott Parker has left Burnley with immediate effect.
Parker had been in discussions with the club over his future after their relegation to the Championship was confirmed last week and it was agreed by mutual consent that the 45-year-old's time at Turf Moor would come to an end.
Mike Jackson will take over at Burnley on an interim basis for their final four fixtures of the season, starting against Leeds on Friday, live on Sky Sports (kick off 8pm).
Parker replaced Vincent Kompany in the summer of 2024 following their relegation from the Premier League and achieved promotion back to the top flight in his first season.
However, Burnley have struggled back in the Premier League and their immediate return to the Championship was confirmed last Wednesday after defeat at Turf Moor by Manchester City.
Speaking after the defeat to City, Parker said he took "responsibility" for the team dropping back into the Championship.
"Like anything, you're on the treadmill," he said. "At this present moment in time, you're on it and engaged in it. And trying desperately to get results and the best version of yourself at this moment in time.
"We have to learn from our mistakes as a football club this year and move from there really. Regarding myself, like always, we've given everything, sacrificed a lot of things and we've fallen short.
"I hold the burden for that and the responsibility for that. We'll keep moving and keep going.
"Fundamentally now, the most important thing is reflecting on this season. Everyone at the football club, work out the way forward and go from there. My main feeling is the game tonight, where we come away from it."
