Sean Dyche 'wanted by Aston Villa and Crystal Palace'

Sean Dyche is a manager in high demand in the Premier League, as both Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are interested in his services, according to The Sun.

Both clubs are waiting to see the outcome of reports that say Burnley are facing financial difficulties, which could force Dyche out the door.

Burnley boss Dyche is the second longest serving Premier League manager, just a couple of weeks behind Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe.

His tenure has been highlighted by two promotions to the top flight, and a seventh place Premier League finish in the 2017-18 season, and his efforts have impressed other clubs.

Dyche's words earlier in the week seem to suggest that Burnley's situation isn't as dire as reported.

'We are in different shape ourselves compared to a lot of others as the club has been run balanced for a number of years,' he said. 'We're in a strong position financially and we don't have to do anything at this moment in time.

'When you look at the facts and figures of the club, we're in a very strong position and the chairman wanted to make sure we didn't furlough.'

However, if Dyche is on the way out, Crystal Palace are said to be long term admirers, and will eventually need a successor to the 72-year-old Roy Hodgson.

Hodgson is in the 'at risk' category when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic, and is seeking a way to avoid the stay at home rule.

Dean Smith is currently manager of Aston Villa, who were deep in a relegation battle when the season was suspended due to the outbreak.
