After participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Senesi returned to his hometown of Concordia and received a warm welcome from the local people. During the day's events, the center-back was honored by thousands.
First, the Municipality of Concordia posted a message on its social media, inviting residents to welcome Senesi on Thursday afternoon: "When one of our compatriots returns in triumph, the whole city comes out to meet him. Marcos has returned to his hometown, and we want to welcome him together with everyone, holding a party to recognize his career and celebrate the immense pride Concordia feels in having its first player represent the Argentine national team in the FIFA World Cup."
"This will be a moment for our entire community to welcome him together, thanking him for the effort, dedication, and humility he showed representing Concordia on the highest stage of world football. Please bring your Argentine flags, wear the national team jersey, and come with your family to support our own pride. We look forward to you experiencing a grand welcome that will go down in Concordia's history!" the municipality added.
Senesi appeared in front of the city hall. He arrived on Wednesday night but was not overly bothered by family and friends. On Thursday, a large number of fans flocked to the streets to welcome the defender.
Senesi said: "Obviously, I am very happy that everyone is here. I never imagined I would experience something like this, returning to my hometown and receiving such a welcome. It's truly incredible, and I sincerely thank everyone for coming. All members of our national team saw the celebrations at Concordia University and throughout Argentina, and all of this deeply touched us. This is truly wonderful. As someone from here, seeing my hometown celebrate like this is priceless to me."
