Sergio Ramos: I have four or five more years of top-level football left in me

Sergio Ramos believes that he has another four or five years left at the top level of football, despite injury problems plaguing his first season at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 36-year-old joined PSG from Real Madrid on a free transfer last summer, and things haven't gone to plan since.

In an interview with former French footballer Ludovic Giuly, who is now working for Amazon Prime France, Ramos made clear that he believes he still has it in him to keep playing at the top level.

"Between four or five more years at a high level," Ramos said when asked how long he thinks he has left in his career.

"And then, another experience. Here in Paris, I have two years [on my contract].

"We'll try to make it three; one more. Then we'll see. As long as my physique holds up, I think my head is very well focused."

Giuly then asked Ramos if he would rather be the best player in the world or play for the world's best team, and the defender showed little hesitation.

"I prefer to play for the best team in the world, because in the end football is a team sport and it's about winning things," Ramos noted.

"Before being individually the best in the world, I'd prefer to play in World Cups, Champions Leagues... You always need the help of your team."

Ramos was then asked for his opinion on the classic club vs country debate in football, and which he prefers to represent.

"The feeling of your homeland, your country... it's always something very, very big," Ramos stated.

"After that, you owe a lot to your team. You have to play well for your team to go to your national team.

"It's a similar feeling, but at the same time different. I couldn't say club or national team. They are both unique feelings. It's true that with the national team you can aspire to be world champion."
