Sergio Reguilon shares key news as Man Utd 'offered' transfer from Real Madrid

Sergio Reguilon has dismissed any fears he could be set for a lengthy injury layoff as Man Utd weigh up a move for the left-back.

The 23-year-old has been offered to United by parent club Real Madrid who are keen to sell in order to raise transfer funds this summer.

There were concerns at the end of Spain's 4-0 Nations League win over Ukraine on Sunday though, as Reguilon collapsed to the turf in agony after colliding with an opponent.

Reguilon clutched his ankle and seemed in a lot of pain, but Spain revealed the injury was not as bad as first feared.

He sustained a sprained ankle in the tangle with Viktor Kovalenko, but after the match Reguilon provided an update on his fitness.

"One week and as good as new," he said on social media.

It was a disappointing end to an otherwise smooth international debut for the defender, who has forced his way into Spain's side following his impressive performances on loan at Sevilla last season.

Despite his good form, he is surplus to requirements at Madrid, who are well stocked at left-back with both Marcelo and Ferland Mendy ahead of him in the pecking order.

United have been given the option to sign Reguilon and are believed to be considering a swoop, with Madrid reportedly setting his price tag at around £18million.

While the position is not a priority for United chiefs, they are open to strengthening in that area, given Brandon Williams has been covering in the role despite being a natural right-back.

Reguilon has been offered to several Premier League clubs, with Arsenal and Tottenham both contacted, while Chelsea opted to sign Leicester's Ben Chilwell instead.

Sevilla are also keen on taking Reguilon back on loan again but Madrid would prefer to offload him in a permanent deal to boost their own transfer kitty.
