Benjamin Sesko believes Manchester United proved they have the right character to battle for Champions League qualification by salvaging a point against West Ham on Tuesday.
Sesko's deft finish in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time ensured Michael Carrick remains unbeaten across his two stints as United's interim boss, after a 1-1 draw.
Timed at 95 minutes and 11 seconds, Sesko's strike was the latest result-altering goal West Ham have conceded in a home Premier League game on record (since 2006-07).
After only scoring twice in his first 16 Premier League matches, Sesko has since netted four times in his last five outings in the competition.
The Red Devils sit fourth in the Premier League with 45 points, one clear of fifth-placed Chelsea and two behind Aston Villa in third.
The Opta supercomputer assigns United a 33.6% chance of finishing in the top four and a 58% probability of making the top five, which could be enough for Champions League qualification.
Asked about United's chances by TNT Sports, Sesko said: "We are living for each other.
"We are doing everything to win the games, to secure the Champions League spot, because we believe that we have the team for it.
"We have the quality, and yeah, we're going to fight towards it. Unfortunately, the game was like it was. We have to now look forward to the next game and try to win it."
Having been dumped out of the FA Cup by Brighton, United now have 12 days off before their next game, against Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium on February 23.
"I think we just have to keep on going, like we did in the last few games," Sesko added.
"We have to keep in mind that we have to play for each other, and we have to take care in every single situation.
"Every second of the game, we have to be focused, to be on point, and obviously, when the chances are coming, to finish them."

Man United salvaged a point. Chelsea sacrificed 2 points. But both got one point each. Chelsea makes sure that United doesn't walk alone.
