Sheffield United are planning to hold talks over the future of promotion 'lucky charm' Gary Madine.
The 28-year-old has played an integral role for Chris Wilder's men this season after helping lift the Bramall Lane club into the Premier League and securing his third consecutive promotion in the process.
Madine is on loan from Cardiff City, who he helped get promoted to the top flight last season, and joined them for £6million from Bolton Wanderers where he earned promotion from League One the season before.
The combative centre forward has scored three goals in the Championship run-in and proved a focal point for their attack.
He is under contract at Cardiff until 2021 but Wilder has been impressed with his attitude and work rate and will look at making the move permanent during the summer.
'This feels like home to me now,' he said of the club to the Sheffield Star earlier this month.
'I'd be devastated if I had to move on from here at the end of the season. I'd love to stay for as long as the manager wants me and hopefully that's beyond the summer.
'I knew I'd enjoy it here, that's why I jumped at the chance to come, but I wasn't thinking about the future. I just wanted to come and play games, score goals and win promotion again.'
