Legendary former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson received a warm welcome as he made his return to the Old Trafford dugout.
Ferguson took charge as United marked the 20th anniversary of their remarkable Champions League final comeback against Bayern Munich, which saw them secure the treble.
A team of United legends, many of whom played a major part in the 1999 treble triumph, took on a side of Bayern legends.
Ferguson was back in the dugout at Old Trafford for the first time since suffering a brain haemorrhage last year.
He led the United legends onto the pitch in front of a packed stadium.
The former United boss was the mastermind behind the club's remarkable treble success and enjoyed being back in the company of some of the club's former players.
Before Sunday's game Ferguson joked that he wasn't sure whether the players would still be up to it.
He told the matchday programme: ‘When I first learned of this 20th anniversary tribute, my thoughts turned to the players. What do they look like now? Will they have grey hair? Will they have put on weight? Will they still be able to kick a ball? We will soon find out!’
A host of former United stars were in action, including David Beckham, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Peter Schmeichel.
Current United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was brought on after just one minute and scored shortly afterwards.
Ferguson managed United between 1986 and 2013, winning 13 league titles, two Champions Leagues, five FA Cups, four League Cups and the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup.
