The Guinness World Records is easily one of the most recognizable books in the world. Let's be honest here; all of us in our childhoods dreamed of getting our names inscribed into that book, imagining ourselves doing some super wacky antics.
It is a matter of great honor to get your name in the annually compiled list even once. But Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo, who has made breaking records one of his favorite hobbies, has been named in more than one edition of the esteemed list - for his on-field exploits, and some ridiculous off-field achievements as well.
Here, we take you through the collection of the top five Guinness World Records currently held by Ronaldo.
#5 Most liked person on Facebook (as on 29 April 2019)
Ronaldo has the biggest social media presence among all the athletes across all the sports in the world. The story of his rise to the pinnacle of world football through hard work and discipline is an inspiration for millions across the globe.
As per the latest edition of Guinness World Records, Ronaldo is the most liked person on the biggest social networking website of the world, with his page receiving a whopping 122,308,950 likes as per the last count.
The record reads:
As of 29 April 2019, the most liked person on Facebook was Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo, with 122,308,950 likes.
It was during his time at Manchester United that Ronaldo gained his status as an international celebrity and won fans via his clinical finishing, puzzling tricks and immaculate skills with the ball.
His fame only grew further when he became the world's most expensive footballer following his move to Real Madrid in 2009, where he went on to cement his place as one of their greatest players of all time.
Though Ronaldo's physical abilities might on the wane, his influence on fans remains as strong as ever. In fact, that will only grow as he continues to give a good account of himself at the Allianz Stadium with his impressive performances for The Old Lady.
#4 Most followers on Instagram (as on 29 April 2019)
Instagram is probably the most trending social media platform in the world today. And any celebrity in the world would give an arm and a leg to have the bragging right of being the most followed person on the app.
Many would assume that an actor or a singer would have the biggest fan army on the platform, but the person currently holding the distinction is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. As per the last count (29 April 2019), he is the most followed person on Instagram, with 163,658,939 followers.
On that same date, only Instagram itself, with 296,269,356 followers, had more than the football star.
The record reads:
The most followed person on Instagram is Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal), with 163,658,939 followers, as of 29 April 2019.
Ronaldo's incredible presence on the platform is evident from the fact that 20 million of the 31.1 million followers of Juventus only started following the club since the arrival of Ronaldo in the summer of 2018.
#3 Most consecutive Champions League matches scored in (individual)
Time and again the five-time winner of the Ballon d'Or has proved that the UEFA Champions League is the competition that brings out the best in him.
Ronaldo is the all-time top scorer, all-time top assist provider and the player with most hat-tricks in the tournament; these are just a few of his records that illustrate just how much he shines at the elite European level club competition. It's not surprising then that three of his Guinness records pertain to his exploits at thi verys competition.
Ronaldo went on an unprecedented goal-scoring spree in the 2017-18 campaign with Los Blancos, scoring in 11 consecutive matches - a run that began with the final of 2016-17 season and came to an end with a last minute penalty in the quarter-final against his current side Juventus in the following campaign.
The record reads:
The most consecutive Champions League matches scored in by an individual is 11, achieved by Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) from 29 September 2017 to 11 April 2018.
Although he also holds the record for most goals scored in a single UCL season, he shares that record in the book with Radamel Falcao, under the heading of 'Most goals in a football European club competition (single season)'.
Both of the forwards managed to score 17 goals, with Falcao's record-haul coming in the 2010/11 Europa League season (with FC Porto) and Ronaldo matching the tally in the 2013/14 Champions League season with Real Madrid.
#2 Most UEFA European Championship tournaments scored in by a player
One thing that has come to define Ronaldo over the years is his consistency, especially in the final third.
He has reached double-digit figures in every single season with his club since 2006-07 season, and in 11 of the 13 seasons that followed he managed to score 20+ goals. He has been equally prolific for his nation as well, scoring at least one goal every year in the Burgundy jersey since 2004, barring 2009.
Ronaldo is a performer at the big events, and is the first player in history to score in four consecutive UEFA EURO competitions. The run started from the Euro held in his home country in 2004 and has extended till the last edition in 2016, where he played a huge role in Portugal's first ever major international win.
The record reads:
The most UEFA European Championship tournaments scored in by a player is 4, achieved by Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) who has scored in the 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 tournaments.
Ronaldo is also the joint top-scorer at the continental tournament alongside with French icon Michel Platini, with nine goals so far.
#1 Most football FIFA World Cup tournaments scored in by a player
Alhough Cristiano Ronaldo remains in pursuit of his first FIFA World Cup trophy, we can say that it has not been for lack of trying on his part.
Ronaldo has been an active part of his side's World Cup campaigns since his first appearance at the 2006 edition. They finished fourth that year, which was their second best performance ever at the main event.
Ronaldo had his best performance individually in the 2018 edition of the competition, but despite his four-goal haul he failed to carry them beyond the round of 16. He might've fallen short of landing the elusive trophy, but individually he has managed to get his name inscribed in the history books by becoming only the fourth player ever to score in four different editions of the tournament.
Ronaldo's total tally currently stands at seven goals.
The record reads:
The most FIFA World Cup tournaments scored in by a player is 4, first achieved by Uwe Seller (Germany) playing for West Germany in the 1958, 1962, 1966 and 1970 FIFA World Cup tournaments. This was equaled by Pelé (Brazil) playing for Brazil in the same four tournaments, and by Miroslav Klose (Germany) playing for Germany in the 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup tournaments. This was again equaled by Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) playing for Portugal in the 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cup tournaments.

Congratulations to Cr701! But 68% of Ronaldo's fans are female who know little or nothing about football! but some follow because of his handsomeness, wealth, but only few follows because of football! I know many will disagree with me and even get angry if they are benefitting from Ronaldo's fortunes!
Let me prove just very simple stuff to you! On this platform, many times you will notice some do make comments like this "this app is for Messi "! [Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh... g"this app is "anti Ronaldo"! Some say this app is for "Barcelona and Messi fans"[Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh]!
You know why? Greatest percentage of Ronaldo fans are ladies who now little about football but just interested in Ronaldo as a person and they stay on face book, Instagram but only few of you guy are on football app such as this following Ronaldo because of football and you guys are in lower percentage of Ronaldo's total fans base ! Almost 98%of Messi fans follows him because of football! 👍 👌 👊 👏

Wether you like it or not , this achievement makes Ronaldo officially the best player ever. I know Messi is fans will disagree. But they’re both too close and i just believe we just need something to break the tie . And for me, this my own tie breaker. Though they’re both still playing. Let see what Messi will pull off by the end of their careers . I will always respect ✊ both players. Please Messi fans don’t kill me. It’s just my own opinion

Think what a remarkable, unduplicatable, and miraculous thing it is to be you! Of all the people who have come and gone on the earth, since the beginning of time, not ONE of them is like YOU! No one who has ever lived or is to come has had your combination of abilities, talents, appearance, friends, acquaintances, burdens, sorrows and opportunities. No, one's hair grows exactly the way yours does. No one's finger prints are like yours. No one has the same combination of secret inside jokes and family expressions that you know. The few people who laugh at all the same things you do, don't sneeze the way you do. No one prays about exactly the same concerns as you do. No one is loved by the same combination of people that love you - NO ONE! No one before, no one to come. YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY UNIQUE! Enjoy that uniqueness. You do not have to pretend in order to seem more like someone else. You weren't meant to be like someone else. You do not have to lie to conceal the parts of you that are not like what you see in anyone else. You were meant to be different. Nowhere ever in all of history will the same things be going on in anyone's mind, soul and spirit as are going on in yours right now. If you did not exist, there would be a hole in creation, a gap in history, something missing from the plan for humankind. Treasure your uniqueness. It is a gift given only to you. Enjoy it and share it! No one can reach out to others in the same way that you can. No one can speak your words. No one can convey your meanings. No one can comfort with your kind of comfort. No one can bring your kind of understanding to another person. No one can be cheerful and lighthearted and joyous in your way. No one can smile your smile. No one else can bring the whole unique impact of you to another human being. Share your uniqueness. Let it be free to flow out among your family and friends and people you meet in the rush and clutter of living wherever you are. That gift of yourself was given you to enjoy and share. Give yourself away! See it! Receive it! Let it tickle you! Let it inform you and nudge you and inspire you! YOU ARE UNIQUE!
